Specialising in the manufacture and service of metal products, our client is a privately owned, Preston-based manufacturing company with T/O of 6-7m and has been trading for over 20 years. Part of a larger group of, this business encompasses multiple subsidiaries covering manufacturer, service and rental of machinery and they’re seeking a Financial Controller to overseas these three subsidiaries.
This business sits across three separate units, employing c. 70 people, a number of which are permanently office based. With an existing finance team of 3, you will be brought in as a replacement for the outgoing/retiring Finance Director. Owing to the size of the business, this FD is extremely hands on and runs a top to bottom approach with the department; so a team-player, someone prepared to roll their sleeves up is essential.
Duties:
· Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including all Financial Ledgers, Accounts Receivable & Payable, Bank & Cash, WIP, VAT processing & returns and accurate revenue
· Prepare monthly Management Accounts
· Responsible for meeting reporting deadlines including HMRC, ONS, companies house, annual audit management and pension scheme reporting.
· Responsible for Payroll processing
· Identifying and implement cost saving initiatives within finance and the wider business
· Support in all aspects of the finance function to ensure accurate and prompt preparation of financial reports for the Board of Directors
· Lead and manage a team of Accounts Clerks, ensuring adequate performance
· All other reasonable requests as directed by the management team
