Role Summary
The Business
This business is a fast-growing, global specialist manufacturing business. With a mission to sustainably develop and manufacture high-quality products for global distribution across Europe, the Americas, and beyond.
Bladel, one of the company’s largest cost centres, is a key manufacturing hub. The site contributes to over 50% of the company’s global internal cost of goods sold and is at the core of operational finance within the Group. With FDA approval opening the door to US market expansion and major growth on the horizon, this is a pivotal time to join.
The Team
You’ll be joining a close-knit finance team of just 2.5 FTE, managing over €50–60 million in manufacturing costs annually. The set-up is lean but high-impact – every member plays a vital role. You’ll be working closely with the existing team who describe themselves as flexible and ‘team players’ who don’t insist on hierarchy but work collaboratively to ensure the work is complete across everything from daily flash reports to strategic planning.
The Role
This is a hands-on, broad finance role ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment, understands the fundamentals of cost accounting, and enjoys working end-to-end across financial processes.
Job duties
Key responsibilities include:
- Take ownership of month-end close processes, including early-stage reporting and financial pack submissions to Group Finance.
- Produce and review monthly financial performance packs, incorporating budget tracking, cost centre analysis, and margin variance across production activities.
- Maintain and refine product costing models, ensuring accurate data around materials, labour, and overhead allocations, while contributing to BOM and standard cost reviews.
- Partner with site leadership to provide financial insight and help prepare materials for senior leadership reviews and key decision-making forums.
- Manage the annual inventory control programme, including coordination of rolling counts and ensuring full-site stock validation in line with financial year-end requirements.
- Work across ERP and consolidation systems (Oracle/Hyperion), ensuring timely uploads, accurate mapping, and reporting across departments.
- Provide cover and continuity for the Finance Business Partner as needed, while helping to strengthen internal financial controls and governance processes.
Looking for
- A degree in Finance, Business Economics or equivalent, or at least 5 years’ relevant experience in finance/accounting role
- A foundational understanding of cost accounting, including standard costing, BOMs, routings, and inventory control
- A working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, or similar ERP/reporting tools (preferable)
- Hands-on experience with P&L, balance sheet, and financial entries, with confidence in journal posting and variance analysis.
- A collaborative mindset, open and honest communication style, and the desire to truly embed into the site team.
Offer
- A rare opportunity to shape finance operations within a strategic global site.
- Broad exposure to financial control, operational finance, and strategic planning.
- A down-to-earth, supportive environment that values curiosity and proactive problem-solving.
- The chance to grow with a business undergoing rapid expansion and innovation.
