SAP Finance Data Lead

  • Location: Bolton
  • Salary: £58,000 - £65,000
  • Job Type: Permanent

Our client is a large manufacturing business boasting 4 main sites in the UK, with turnover in the billions. They have a strong European presence, with an enviable export order book. As a result of this financial stability, they are in significant growth mode, looking to increase their headcount nation-wide dramatically throughout 2023.

Globally, the business is in the process of migrating its ERP system to SAP 4/HANA. This represents a significant opportunity for you to support a global business in two ways 1) simplify and harmonise its existing ERP system, stripping back many of the ad hoc developments which have been implemented over the years to ensure the process flows from manufacturing to finance are much smoother and more reflective of what the business hopes to achieve when bringing in the new system, and 2) scope out, document and coordinate with the project team to help define the new system. The eventual aim is that the client has a best in class set of cost collection methodologies and Manufacturing cost reporting tools.

Role

As a Data Lead, you will spend time understanding the business and the existing system; analysing costing, reporting, transactions – absolutely everything in finance in order to streamline the processes, bringing them more in line with traditional SAP processes. Once this has been complete, your attentions will turn to 4 HANA, working with the Manufacturing and Finance teams to understand and document requirements, feeding back to the implementation team to ensure all parties are heard and lobby for change where required.

This is a permanent role, with a medium-term horizon focused on transformational work. The future beyond that, yet to be defined. You may segue into a BAU finance role, support on other projects or continue to enhance and upgrade 4 HANA by way of third party system or application integration.

What we're looking for from you:

  • A strong individual with an ability to influence internal stakeholders at varying levels
  • A good working knowledge of SAP, ideally as a super user or a high-level user within an organisation
  • Someone who is process orientated and capable of taking ownership of the manufacturing to finance process flows (with legacy system and with scoping for 4 HANA)
  • Ideally, a qualified accountant with manufacturing experience, who can ensure accurate costing methodologies across multi-national group entities

Benefits:

  • Salary – Up to £65k, dependent on experience
  • Annual Bonus – 21% target
  • Annual standard pay increase – up to 4%
  • Annual Leave – 25 Days holiday + holiday purchase scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
  • Additional benefits:
    • Enhanced parental leave
    • Subsidised Gym
    • Discount at retailers and hospitality venues
    • Enhanced pension (Up to 8% employer)
    • Share Incentive Plan
    • Health and Dental Insurance
